The Silverado 2500 runs on a 6.6L V8 gas engine that can reach 401 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 464 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. The available 6.6L Duramax turbo-diesel engine is capable of generating 470 horsepower at 2800 rpm and 975 lb-ft of torque at 1600 rpm. This engine has a maximum towing capacity of 22,070 pounds.
The Chevy Silverado 2500 comes with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission that’s electronically controlled with overdrive. Tow/haul mode improves engine cooling whenever you’re towing a large trailer or carrying a heavy cargo load.

Technology
The 2025 Silverado 2500 has a 7-inch Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system. This system comes with wireless phone projection through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing you to pair your phone to the truck for calling and texting through voice command pass-through.
The new Silverado 2500 HD also has Wi-Fi hotspot capability. You can use the internet on up to ten smartphones, tablets, or laptops within fifty feet of your truck using this hotspot.
